- Sort all soiled linen from the Ward, Theatre, Dialysis, Isolation, Accident and Emergency departments before laundering.
- Ensure that per infection prevention control policies and procedures the necessary precautions and techniques are followed in the laundering of infectious linen in a safe and responsible manner.
- Wash, iron, and fold linen for the Ward, Operating Theatre, Accident & Emergency, dialysis daily.
- Ensure that no needles and other equipment are in the linen to be washed.
- Discard pampers and pads found in soiled linen in appropriate bins.
- Wash bed linen, clothing, and towels for Senior Citizen’s Home and Mental Health Department.
7. Remove stains on linen using appropriate stain removal solutions.
- Wash and iron coats for Lab and radiology personnel.
- Check and keep a record of linen received and distributed from the laundry daily.
- Collect laundry detergents, bleach, fabric softeners, and other cleaning supplies from Housekeeping Supervisor as required and keep proper inventory.
11. Clean washroom floor and windows, and ensure that the facility remains clean at all times
- Dispose of waste in waste bins, clean waste bins, and replace liners.
- Operate machines with caution, following all safety rules and instructions.
14. Perform maintenance to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the equipment by reporting faults and mechanical failures to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
15. Clean machines and equipment daily and maintain the washroom in a sanitized condition at all times using established sanitation and hygiene practices.
16. Sweep and mop floors daily and as necessary in adherence to universal health and safety standards.
17. Ensure that standard precautions of safety in a health facility are strictly complied with by making sure that approved hospital-grade washing detergents are used as prescribed.
18. Follows safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
19. Properly pack laundered linen into laundry trolley for transport to the Ward’s linen closet. Store clean linen in closets.
20. Respond to disaster preparedness action plan and report to duty as directed.
