To plan, organize, coordinate and manage the operations of the Land information system to ensure that database is maintained in accordance with the various land related acts, policies and procedures. Ensure that information is kept up to date and relevant GIS products/deliverables easily accessible to the needs of the public and private sector in Anguilla.
1. Plan, organize and coordinate the day to day operation of the Land Information System and ensure the integrity of the system.
2. Co-ordinate and project manage the design, development, QA testing and implementation - including necessary training – of the relational databases that comprise the GIS system.
3. Make available 24/7 the complete and current suite of land-related datasets to all public and private sector users through the Department website/ Landfolio product, ensuring that all attribute and spatial data is up to date and accurate.
4. Manage and co-ordinate the support activity for the GIS software needs of Government and its Agencies.
5. Provide software development and programming knowledge and expertise to guide the LIS team. Ensure that all software products are adequately documented and that cross-training and knowledge transfer is performed.
6. Ensure that hardware and software (licenses) are replaced / renewed in timely fashion, system storage capability remains adequate / robust and that our GIS systems are kept secure from cyber-attack, drawing on the expertise of GIS developer / programmers, Computer Services Staff, Information Security Office and outside contractors. The Director is to be kept appraised of any concern towards suspicious activity.
