1. Assist with the management of the manual Land Registry updates and Digital updates on the ESRI products and Landfolio database system
2. To maintain and update land-related data, including a comprehensive cadastral database of over 20,000 land parcels
3. Maintain GIS Services to approximately 100-500 public and private sector users/subscribers
4. Manage and take technical responsibility for the spatial component and documentation of GIS development and system support projects, and proactively manage and participate in all phases of the development life cycle.
5. Perform GIS data quality control of LIS production procedures to ensure continued confidence in the digital data and mapping products supplied to customers and held in the LIS. Particularly:
• the examination cadastral plans to ensure that established draughting standards are met;
• the examination all Survey Plans;
• the maintenance of communications with customers to ensure that information supplied meets their needs
6. To have a comprehensive understanding of departmental procedures, data structures, data management, and business processes and the eff ort needed to support them, and to improve standards, policies, and procedures as needed.
7. Perform spatial analysis and create information products utilizing GIS software, geoprocessing tools, and other processes
8. To assist with the security features to maintain confidentiality, accuracy and quality of information. As well as monitor and enforce the data usage restrictions.
9. Liaise with the hardware and software professionals in the Government IT Unit and region for technical support.
10. Represent the Ministry/Department on local, regional and international technical groups on GIS related matters as directed.
11. Manage his/her own workload and prioritise as the post-holder sees fit having due regard to workload.
